Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.” – 1 Jn 3:4. “But if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 Jn 1:9

All of us, human beings, fall into sin. There is no one in this world who is good and perfect and free from sin. For the Word of God itself tells us, “There is no one who is righteous, not even one.” – Rom 3:10. “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – 1 Jn 1:10.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, is a God who is full of mercy and compassion. He forgives us when we acknowledge our faults and return to him. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end.” – Lam. 3:22

Jesus Christ is waiting with his arms open wide for us to repent and return to him with a clean heart. So, let us like King David, come before the Lord and ask pardon. “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” – Ps. 51:1-2. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and sustain in me a willing spirit.” – Ps. 51:10-12
