"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.” – Acts. 2:1-4

More than a thousand people gathered at Divine Community Centre, Kenchankere on 18th May 2013, to celebrate the great feast of Pentecost. It started at 8.00 a.m. with Praise and Worship conducted by Rev. Fr. Jerry Sequeira. St. Jerome said, “Once singing is twice praying”. The people gathered “sang psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to the Lord, giving thanks to God the Father.” – Ephesians. 5:19-20

The Word of God was shared by Rev. Fr. Jerry Sequeira, Bro. Paul R., Dr. Santosh D’Souza and Mrs. Ida D’Souza.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated grandly by Rev. Fr. Jerry Sequeira and was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Nelson Saldanha from Mumbai.

All the people gathered were being filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit and returned home claiming the promise that the Lord has given: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea & Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts. 1:8
